The firm
was founded in 1945 by Alexandre Hauchmann as an internationally-oriented general
practice. Over the years, the firm has gained renoun
in international trade and maritime law.
In 1978, Alexandre Hauchmann was
joined by Enrico Monfrini, who brought to the firm his knowledge and
experience in complex litigation and arbitration, as well as in
international tax, banking and finance law.
Gilles
Crettol joined the firm in January 2004. His practice mainly focuses on
corporate, tax, contract and banking law, as well as trust and estate
planning. Gilles Crettol also provides family office services to high net
worth individuals taking up residence in Switzerland.
Albert Rey-Mermet
joined the firm in December 2004. As a former cantonal judge and
scientific collaborator at the Swiss Supreme Court, he reinforces the
corporate, contractual, sports and intellectual property practices of the
firm, as well as those of litigation and arbitration, in particular as an
arbitrator.
In 2008, Isabelle Terrier-Hagmann and
Yves Klein, who had joined the firm as associates in 1999, were made
partners.
